Because we need to break out of our silos

I’ve been working on a new song called “The Guns of How I Feel” that’s about someone who is so myopically buried in their aesthetic, academic work that they fail to notice and take action to stop the terrible forces taking shape around them.  

Johnny’s got a moth collection thinks it’s really neat

Gonna show it to the academy when it’s all complete

If those bombs hadn’t started to fall

He coulda been in their hallowed halls

Now he’s just a pair of boots in the light brigade. 

I feel like we are all siloed off into issues we care about: inflation, the border, tariffs, foreign policy, etc. Under normal circumstances this is what we should do as voters. However, this is an extraordinary election, and if we can’t see the forest for the trees and get behind Kamala Harris, we’re in serious, serious trouble.
