She is for love of country, and love of people. She promises to be for the people, not just for some of the people but for all of the people. It’s about time. She will have a Republican in her cabinet. She has common sense. She’ll find what we have in common.
She is for a woman’s right to choose. She is for accessible health care. She is for the working class and the middle class. She still believes in the American dream. We need a counter to cynicism. We need a hope-a-holic. That’s her.
She is from a tradition of service. Even her social life in college was rooted in a service: for the people. Her sorority, AKA, as far back as the early twentieth century, was dedicated to substance: to educating Blacks in the rural South, to the fight against lynching. That took more than a century to realize! Kamala continued then fight and helped finally put anti-lynching legislation in place. She corrected a disgrace.
She has written about her maternal grandfather, of walking the beaches of Besant Nagar with him, being inspired by his passion for democracy.
Democracy is deep in her heart. Democracy is on a precipice. We need someone in charge, who will keep it from crashing into the ocean!
She’s a weaver. She is lithe in a personal world of a wide variety of cultures. It’s a path we all must learn to build. It’s crucial in a world that looks like it wants to destroy itself, inside our borders and beyond our borders. We are all interconnected whether we like it or not. It’s the only way.
She knows very well what a criminal is. She’s always been smart on crime. She knows how to protect those who need protection, yet she knows how to lock up the ones who need to be locked up. She is tough and smart both.
She is elegant. She is articulate. Power is not only about force; it’s about influence and it’s about diplomacy. She will represent us well. We will be proud.
She will be our rock star. She will be solid as a rock. Timing is everything, and now’s the time. It’s about time we had someone like Kamala Harris as president of the United States. It’s time for Kamala. Kamala is for our time.
