Because Harris will protect the Affordable Care Act for Americans like me who suffer from a pre-existing medical condition

Kamala Harris will protect the Affordable Care Act for the one hundred million Americans like me who suffer from a pre-existing medical condition.

Six and a half years ago, I received a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis, a chronic autoimmune disease. That was shocking and upsetting, but thanks to the ACA, I knew I could count on lifelong medical insurance.

Remember: It’s only since Obamacare took effect in 2014 that those of us with a pre-existing condition were guaranteed insurance coverage that could not be cut or cost more than anybody else’s.

For nearly that entire decade, not only has Donald Trump vowed to dismantle the ACA, he’s tried to do it, vaguely promising “something better.” If reelected, Trump will do his utmost to eviscerate the ACA and nothing better will appear in its wake.

Kamala Harris will make sure that we Americans with a pre-existing condition have access to reliable, affordable insurance coverage. Our chronic medical woes will not bankrupt us. All Americans, healthy and less healthy, will benefit from her commitment to the ACA.

Kamala Harris has my vote for that reason and 269 others.
