Because America’s economy relies on attracting the smartest people from across the world
I’ve got a plan and it involves building giant magnets to be placed across America. But instead of pulling metal objects toward the installations, the attraction would work on brains. Yes, my super magnets would pull the brightest and most entrepreneurial brains from across the world toward our cities, academic institutions and companies. Preferably along with the human body housing said gray matter.
My backup idea is to elect Kamala Harris. Because if a mechanical solution won’t work, we can create another type of “brain magnet,” and it’s called hope. Hope that we can create a responsible immigration policy which continues to bolster our population and expand our culture. Hope that a responsible, less divided nation will provide an environment where foreigners feel welcome, not demonized. And hope that economic policies which truly provide mobility mean that everyone has a shot at the American dream, whether they were born here or aspire to American citizenship.
I’ve met so many amazing startup founders and engineers who came here to start their companies, create jobs, and raise their families. According to a 2022 study by the nonpartisan nonprofit National Foundation for American Policy, more than half of the US startups valued at over $1 billion were started by immigrants. These companies create jobs, pay taxes, and give America a technology advantage over its global rivals.
Kamala Harris has the lived identity, policy positions, and stabilizing vision to ensure America remains an unrivaled startup economy. And I’m supporting her in this election.
